Leaving Red Wing, I went to find a little town called "Esdaile". It was very nice and very empty, maybe a dozen houses and no sign of life. I also called into Wisconsin Dells where they have one of the three Mir Space Stations that were built (one went into space, one was used as a ground version foer the misson, this was a spare). In Madison, I stayed with Andrew and Beth Ravesncroft. Great to see old faces.

Thanks, Louise. It was indeed a great trip and a great way to meet people - real people!
I had the roof down every mile of the journey and got waves from truckers, motorcyclists, RVs. etc.
My only regret was doing it alone.

Looks like you had lots of fun crossing the US like that! What a great excuse to take a monumental road trip...
