Jan 30

This French dude Christian buys a Sega Genesis and a couple of games right down the street for $30.  And it just so happens one of those games is Street Fighter which is one of the greatest video games ever made.  Now if he would have bought an Xbox or new Playstation I wouldn`t have been able to play as there are way too many buttons and I haven`t played a video game for like 5 years.  However, I can still dominate at games that I was good at as a kid and me and Ewee probably battled over 1,000 times in Street Fighter when we were younger.  I was usually Ken when I was a kid and Ewee had a tough time beating me.  He is the perfect weapon, you can just sit back and throw A-Uckens (sp?) and when the opponent approaches you just leg sweep and if he jumps at you you just do the Dragon Punch and he`s fucked.  Ken also has a special flying kick which works well in certain situations.  Now I probably haven`t played Street Fighter in 14 years but I still remember how to throw A-Uckens and how to do the flying kick.  Anyways, Christian, 2 Chileans and I start to play and I absolutely whoop everyone`s ass.  I`m not even Ken all the time and I switch up between 5 different people and I don`t think I lost one match.  I went probably like 25-0, yes I am that dope at Street Fighter.  I`m starting to feel much better today and I don`t know if it is because I`m starting to get healthier or if winning at something jump starts my immune system.  I don`t do crap today.  I pack up everything, workout, update the blog, say goodbye to everyone at the hostel and crash at some point.  I do remember one random conversation I had with Lucy and I told her if I was to become a politician my campaign would be (ok, to get rid of pennies) to hold gladiator battles between inmates at a huge stadium like at the football stadium at Michigan.  I love this idea, take lifers, ask them if they want to take part in gladiator battles and those that do will square off in a game of life and death with the winner gaining freedom or at least a shortened sentence.  Most importantly this "rehabilitation" program would greatly reduce the prison population problem which is spiraling out of control.  Not only that but some collateral benefits would be that the ticket price could easily go for an average of $7,000 (believe me, people would pay this if they pay $2,000 for Superbowl tickets) per seat and multiply that by 100,000 people = $700,000,000, which could be used for other rehabilitation programs, or for schools or for anything that would improve life in America.  The other benefit is that the winner would go free which sounds bad but he would become an instant celebrity and would be on every talk show and on every magazine cover in the country.  Now a crazy wacko being set free could backfire but I`m willing to bet with all the new fame and influx of money he will become a model citizen sort of like Eddie Murphy in Trading Places.  So see, we already have a precedent for such a study and obviously Hollywood knows whats up.

Whoop some more ass in Street Fighter in the morning real quick and break out to catch the bus.  Bus trip was about 14 hours and passes without incident, which is a relief.
