We left Koh Tao at 230 pm and arrived in Bangkok at 5 am the following morning. We had a 4 hour layover in Chumpon, a small fishing village located on the mainland in the Gulf of Thailand. We were dropped off in a haze on Koh San road(the center of the backpacking world) in Bangkok and quickly stumbled into the cheapest guesthouse we could find. It was a dump, four walls, 2 beds and a fan. We were looking forward to our noon check in at a decent place with air con and pool later that day.
After checking in and getting refreshed we decided to go back to Kao San for lunch and some shopping. Ana had never been there and wanted to check out the circus. Kao San is an area where all the foreigners in Bangkok congregate to relax between their comings and goings. Bangkok is the undisputed hub of South East Asia, all roads lead to the Bangkok. I believe we will end up there no less than 5 times on our trip.
