It felt so great to get back to a normal city. Hong Kong is a great city, truly one of the best cities in the world. You have to have been around Asia to appreciate the culinary offers of Hong Kong. You can find beer and cheese, I mean real beer and real cheese, these things are unheard of in the rest of Asia.
After suffering the horrid food of China. The insane numerous amounts of "mystery meat" which of course I never tried, being a culinary coward, a difficult state of character when traveling, but I maintain my stubborn bay area standards. While camping in Songpan, an Irish lad pulled out a stick of meat that smelled identical to cat food, not similar, identical. The quality of food these peasants are used to varies from my privileged American's standards, varies being a euphemism.
Hong Kong island is seemingly and endless maze of shopping meccas, stands, stalls, malls and banks
Hong Kong has the smoothest, coolest transportation I have ever seen, maybe even edging Tokyo, which is not easy since Tokyo is the best place in the world, its like going into the future, they had the first cellular network in 1979, yes 1979! Of course an American invented the cell phone since we invent everything, but Japan was quicker to catch on. I always have to explain to others that American's aren't dumb since EVERYTHING of consequence has come out of the good ole USA the last 100 years.
Hong Kong is an endless maze of shopping malls, connected by subways, awesome tall buses, a series of walkways above the city streets that separates man from cars and provides cover when it rains. It also has the worlds largest escalator that goes up the steep hill in Soho. It's really convenient.
I also want to nominate Hong Kong as the city with the best signs ever for pedestrians
A side note, Hong Kong has the ugliest people ever, trolls everywhere dressed like Jerry Springer contestants, unlike Japan where everyone is flawless. Though, the food here is unbelievable for Asia so I can put up with the locals.
Drinking here is too expensive unless money is not important so Ana and I did a lot of street drinking and boozing in the Hostel. Looking forward to Macau.
2 days to Bali..............................So stoked

Hong Kong
. There are more banks here than coffee shops in Seattle, I guess they go with the shopping. Hong Kong is across the way from the mainland, which is the other half of Hong Kong. It truly is the gateway to and from China. Geography is everything, I mean everything. You can tell why Hong Kong is Hong Kong after seeing its location.Hong Kong has the smoothest, coolest transportation I have ever seen, maybe even edging Tokyo, which is not easy since Tokyo is the best place in the world, its like going into the future, they had the first cellular network in 1979, yes 1979! Hong Kong 1
. There are signs everywhere for everything. The city is so planned, of course a direct contrast to the rest of Asia who seem to get by without street names, trust me it doesn't work. It's not a matter of culture, it just doesn't fucking work, nothing worse than looking for some hotel with an address in a new city to find out that, that city does not use street names.A side note, Hong Kong has the ugliest people ever, trolls everywhere dressed like Jerry Springer contestants, unlike Japan where everyone is flawless.
