After a two weeks in Pai I finally got moving and left at 830 am after a night of good byes to the local bar owners. The ride to Chang Khong stopped in Chang Mai where I had to change mini bus. Most of the drive drive was uneventful but I did get to chat to an American named John who had just finished climbing in the Himalayas and was taking some time off to travel some of Loas. There was also another couple traveling together Matt and Sharon from the UK. The couple were just close friends traveling through Thailand. We arrived in Chang Khong after a full days worth of mini-bus and booked into the PJ Guest house on the boarder. The guest house was a reasonable G/H where I booked the slow boat to Luang Prabang. The Morning was a bit of a shambles trying to get all the people from the bus going the lady was saying we leave in 15 mins when 10 people have yet to get up ... heh... The Isralies were the latest to get up .... typical ;). Mind you it was their independence day the night before.
