Ordered my cab to pick me up from home, but the tosser turned up half an hour late. Still should have had enough time to get to LHR, except, the driver didn't know how to get there, and his sat nav took him through the center of London. Even with the sat nav, he kept taking wrong turns. Time was getting on, so I decided the only way I was going to make it was to get out at Paddington and get the Heathrow Express. Of course, I had just missed one and had to wait 15 mins for the next train.

Got to Virgin T3 15 mins after checking had closed. Was told straight away by a girl by the self check in machines, that I had no chance of getting on, until I mentioned I was in Upper. She looked me up and down and asked if I was sure (to be fair, I did look a bit of a state!) then went off to talk to someone. All of a sudden, I'm on. Seemed a bit unfair. Had I been in economy, I would have missed my flight. Still, I wasn't about to complain!

Nice journey, good food including a salted chocolate pudding...OMG!!

At Vancouver airport...No bag! I didn't give them any shit, as I thought it was probably my fault for being late. Anyway, they assured me it would be on the very next flight, and i'd have it soon.

spent most of my 2 days in Vancouver chasing up my bag. Virgin, were pretty useless. Promised phone calls, the usual "I'll look into this personally" never to be heard of again! Finally got someone to admit that they had no idea where my bag was. Apparently it went down the the conveyor, and the tag fell off. Eventually got it back at 2am on the morning I was going to Seattle. Just turned up out of the blue. Personally, I think my bag got pissed off waiting and made it's own way!

Weather wasn't good in Vancouver, but lovely city, great bars and shopping. Very clean looking place. Hotel was really nice. Had a great view from the 28th floor balcony (which they said I couldn't smoke on...yeah right!)

Anyhoo...This morning (Sat 30th June) I picked my car up from avis, and headed off to Seattle. Was a bit worried about crossing the boarder with my meds, as I'd forgotten to get a doctors letter.

Nearly 2 hours sat in traffic approaching the boarder control :(  Then a further 30 mins inside the building being questioned by some arse that was probably bullied at school. I really don't understand why some of them are so rude.

Couple more hours driving in torrential rain down to Seattle. Had spotify playing my Ameican Road trip playlist to keep me company. Especially enjoyed singing at the top of my voice to Hotel Yorba by the White Stripes. Was nice on the approach, and seeing the famous Seattle Needle.

Now here at the Grand Hyatt in downtown Seattle. Nice, but not as nice as the Blue Horizon. Nice view of the space needle from my window (see pic) to get ready and see what the Seattle night life has to offer! Laters!! X
