Houston is the fifth largest city in the US by population and over 600 square miles! There are at least 5 "downtown" areas. So, it won't surprise you that we decided on doing just one thing, The Johnson Space Center!

I must say, it was great. We took a tram ride first to Mission Control and Rocket Park. Had to climb 87 steps to see Mission Control, but it was worth it. It was so cool to see exactly where the Apollo, Gemini, and Mercury missions were managed!

Rocket park was outdoors (i.e., hot), but also very interesting. And of course, we saw an actual 3-staged, 363 foot long Saturn V rocket. It was really amazing. Afterwards, we saw a couple of movies, exhibits, Star Wars and flight simulators, and most interesting of all, we got to touch a 3.8 billion year-old Moon rock - really, they actually let you touch it.

Decided to stay in Houston tonight so we could have a nice dinner at Americas. Wow. Best steak and tres leches flambe ever. The churrasco was simply out of this world good. Don't be tempted by anything else on the menu (which is very tempting). I mean, it'll make a vegetarian change her mind (yes, YS, that means you).

3200 miles down. Next stop, Nawlins!
