We had a tossup between sleeping in Ft. Worth and Dallas; geography dictated the former, and we're glad it did. The Renaissance Hotel was really cool and the room was great. It's right around the corner from the county courthouse, and just two miles from the stockyards, where we went when we woke up.

We got there in time to see the "cattle drive", a much anticipated daily event. I'm sure you're thinking at least 200 head of cattle and 10 or 20 cowboys. Try 6 or 7 cattle and 5 or 6 cowboys on a 2 block "drive"! This, where once 3 million head were sold annually.

Had lunch at Riscky's BBQ, and we each had a grilled chicken salad. I think we've overdosed on beef. It was nice to eat a plate of green food! We then went shopping, and as you can see from the pictures, the kids found some cowboy hats and Grant even got a set of spurs!

Next stop, Dallas!
