. All the while walking, we were basking in the perfect weather and super cute city. We stopped into the city tourist center for a free map (not needed here) and to make sure we were on track to our hotel. We also found out about the hot springs an viewed everyone sipping on the hot, mineral water in hopes of living longer. The pictures are almost as pretty as the town.
After checking into our hotel and walking all over the city, we finally stumbled into a seriously local pub for dinner where we enjoyed some delicious food, much needed water and took 100% advantage of their free internet as I realized it was already the end of August and we had NO idea where we’d be going after London (which is already planned for after Amsterdam). So I spent the entire time there (about 1.5 hours) online checking on flights, making sure we got the best deals and finally it was done. I booked two tickets from London to Reykjavik, Iceland and continuing on to….New York. All for the BARGAIN price of just over $400 US Dollars (taking my bows…yes yes I know…I’m GOOD!). This doesn’t mean this is the end of our travels…just that our visa to the EU is expired and it’s time to get back onto US soil.
From dinner, we continued our walk back to the hotel where we retired for the evening satisfied with the city and our travel accomplishments!
We woke up and felt inclined to explore more than just Prague this morning so while we enjoyed our complimentary breakfast buffet, we discussed our options. We couldn't really find somewhere so we consulted with our very friendly front desk guy, Jan and he told us about a couple of cities around Prague and one of them was a city called Karlovy Vary. Karlovy Vary is a 2 hour bus trip from Prague and very inexpensive to travel to. It hosts the International Karlovy Vary Film Festival every year (this July was the 45th) and is known as one of the oldest spa cities. You might be more inclined to recognize this city by the following: It’s the city that Queen Latifa goes to in the movie Last Holiday. There’s a picture of the Grand Pupp Hotel in my photos which is the hotel that she stayed at and dined every evening wearing her best evening gown and ordering everything on the menu. We exited the bus station and using the free wifi on the Student Agency bus we rode in on, I looked up walking directions to our hotel, Hotel Elefant
