Dear Blog,
After a busy few days in Ancient Rome we headed to Florence in the hope that it wasn't filled with crazy drivers and hawkers like Rome. Well wishful thinking there. Florence is the largest city in the Tuscan Region. It is quite a nice city with a massive big Catherdral and a few museums. The first day there we walked around the town but nothing much to tell you there. We were both feeling a little down and out due to being attacked by what we now think are Bed bugs. Luckily we had a very comfirtable private room with a nice comfy bed where we could spend some time recouping and that is what we did as the weather in Florence was freezing and wet. The 2nd day after a nice long sleep in we went to the Accademia Museum where the famous statue of Davud lives, and thats all that is there other than some other not very exciting sculptures and paintings. We pais 10euro or $15 auddie to see a nude giant names David, but to be honest the staue is very impressive and we didn't regret going to see it. The detail is amazing and the Statue is apparently all in proportion, including his giant.....feet. After the museum we went to this tiny little \panin bar which sold freshly made rolls and they were cheap and yummy. we also had some extremely nice Gelati, a little on the small size but the taste was amazing. Once again we had another quiet night in eating microwaved soup and rolls. The 3rd day was yet another cold and wet day, we took a bus to the little Tuscan town of Siena, it was a very pretty medivil town which would have been better if the weather was better, story of our trip really. Oh how could i forget Pisa, Siena was day 4, Pisa was day 3. Pisa was a an hour train ride and of course the only reason we went there was for the Leaing Tower. We were actually really impresed the this building. It looks really cool up close and we took some very silly photos which you can see on our website. The only bad thing about Pisa is those annoying people selling crappy fake handbags and watches and these tacky trickets. There are signs up in both Pisa and Florence telling tourists not to by this stuff as it is actually Illegal but they sellers never go away and they almost shove the watches in your face. Anyway Florence was nice, would have been better if the weather was nicer and the Bed Bugs hadn't followed us. Next stop is Cinque Terre.
