Dear Blog,
Today we took a 4 hour train ride from Venice to Ljubljana just over the border in Slovenia. we arrived at around 8pm and checked into out Hostel which was once a Prison. Yes quite creepy but they have set up the bulding very nicely. The old cells have been turned into rooms which were interesting. that night we just got some food and went to bed fairly early. The following day turned out to be a shocker. it was pouring all night and all day until 4pm. we attempted to see some sights but it was raining so much that it was impossible. we saw that an Irish pub was playing the Australia vs England rugby and decided to have some lunch and watch the game. towards the end of the game a large group of mostly aussies walked into the pub, they were on a contiki tour. One of the guys on the tour was someone who i used to work with at Aviva in Melbourne. Its such a small world sometimes. anyway Aus lost the game which was a shame. we left the pub around 5pm and the rain had finally stopped so we walked around the old town again and took some last minute photos. It is actually a very pretty town we just didn't get to see it. oh and they eat Horse. can't say i was too delighted when i saw Stallion staeak and Horse Burger on the menu and i refused to eat there just in case. The next morning we took an early train to Zagreb the capital of Croatia
