Dear Blog,
Today we tookma 5 hour train ride through some amazing scenery to Venice in Italy. We arrived around 7pm. In Venice we had to book a dorm room in a Hostel because its such an expensive city. even 2 beds in a 6 bed dorm room cost us heaps. the first night we went and found a cheap restaurant ( food is actually reasonably priced) and ate some basic pasta and drank cheap wine. we then went waking around the maze of little canals and found a bar that sold very cheap drinks called a Spritz which contains some kind of bitter liquer and fanta ( well it tasted like fanta) and an olive, sounds weird but was very nice and refreshing, we had a couple of those and then headed back to the room. The following day we walked across the city and a million little bridges and canals to St Marks Square, the most dirtiest and over rated square in Europe. well thats in our opinion anyway. The weather was very hazy and grey and the buldings looked dirty plus there were a mllion pigeons.because there were people selling food for the tourists to feed them. Don't these birds eat enough scraps in their life time?. not a fan. anyway we basically spent the day walking up and down the canals and looking at all the shops etc which was enjoyable. We had pizza and Gelati for lunch and went back to the same place for dimner that we went the night before. The following day we had a 4pm train so we just walked around the city more and ate more Gelati yum yum. Venice to be honest was not as good as we thought it would be. The Canals are quite nice but there really isn't much else there. next stop Ljubljana Slovenia
