A bit of gap in the blog as I've been working so hard in the last week that I've been physically exhausted every night and in bed by 10am! I have gotten into a routine for the working day though so let's run through that.

7.15am - Wake up, shower (don't know why I do that in the morning cos I'm filthy gorgeous by the the end of the day!) and get dressed.
8am - Go for a walk in the Sanctuary and see the Kangaroos, Wallabies and other creatures before they go to bed for the day.
8.30am - Breakfast & put on suntan lotion (Factor 30 is essential here - I forgot to do my shoulders for a couple of hours and got burnt for it!)
9am - Myself and the other vollies (as we're known) split into two groups of two. One cleans out and waters the Quolls cages & check they're okay, the other tops up the parrot feeds and waters the plants in front of the entrance & the seedlings round back.
9.45am - Feed & check the animals in the animal hut including 2 blue tongue skints, a shingle back lizard, 3 snakes, stick insects and tree frogs.
10.30am - Break time - need water & fruit to snack on!
10.45am - Weed the car park or rake the footpaths. Sometimes we've been sorting out the seedlings
12.30pm - Lunch time - either salad or sandwich
1.30pm - Back to work. Depending on what there is to do there has been clearing & building a path to Hugh's cage (he's a spotted tail Quoll) so the public will be able to see him, or some office work putting up warning signs for Hugh as he bites. Sometimes been out putting signposts round the sanctuary.
3.15pm - Break again - more water!
3.30pm Finishing up what we've done before
4pm - Feeding the Quolls (chicken necks or dead mice) - hearing them crunch the bones is not nice! Putting feed out for the Kangaroos & wallabies, feeding the cockatoo and sugarglider.
4.30pm - Finish! It's great to know that I'm finished on time and can be back at our cabins by 4.32pm - no more commute! The evening's are free to do what we want.
