Hello,
Got on our bus at 6.30am, Luke still feeling like poo. The bus journey was long and it was crammed full of people, the Vietnamese guy sat in the aisle next to us kept using Luke's leg as an arm rest. The guy was also very curious, taking The Hobbit off Luke so he could have a look and he even reached for his passport at one point, to his disappointment he was turned down.
On arrival at the border we had to get off the bus with our bags to queue up to get stamped out of Laos. We then had to walk down the road into Vietnam to get stamped in. There were a few forms to fill in including a medical quarantine form, Luke lied about not having all the symptoms - diarrhoea, fever, aches and oblivious.
Back on the bus, we were going til half7 yay.
Fell into a hotel, ate and went to sleep. Up fairly early the next morning to get on a train to Hanoi........ but the trains were full until 9pm. We bumped into the Australian couple (Rob and Sue) from our bus over the border and ended up spending the day at the beach with them, they're really nice and a bit crazy. We had a great day, except Luke started to go downhill again as we left the beach.
Terrible journey to Hanoi, no more than half an hours sleep and Luke spent the whole time groaning about his headache. Worried. xxxx
