Hello,
Our bus arrived at Luang Prabang's Southern Bus Terminal at 5am and we were bundled into a tuk tuk into the centre and dropped somewhere. We were with a friendly Australian girl called Erika and between us we managed to figure out where we were and get some drinks in what, at this time, felt like a ghost town.
We've mostly spent our time visiting many the many wats of Luang Prabang. Yesterday we embarked on our first cooking course and it was certainly interesting. When we first arrived at the restaurant at 9am no one talked to us and they all seemed to know each other already, they were all considerably older too. First we were taken to the local market to get a taste of Laos ingredients and where they come from. Laos people don't use recipes they just cook with what's available seasonally. In the wet season that's bamboo and mushrooms, in the dry season most vegetables are available.
