Yummy yummy place xxxx

Pondicherry, now officially Puducherry, was a French colony until they relinquished their control some 50years ago. As a result it still has the chaos of India but with some French architecture and fine cuisine.
We decided to stay in the French Quarter and after wandering around and looking at 4/5 accomodation possibilities and dumping our rickshaw driver cos he was a pain in the ass, we were pointed in the direction of The French Villa. Not featured in the Lonely Planet we decided to have a look around, it was lovely and cheaper than all the other places in the area, although 3times what we have been spending. We did visit le sacre coeur church and walk along the promenade/amongst some dusty heritage houses but to be honest we pretty much just shopped and ate. The pain au chocolats, croissants, crepes, steak frites, quiches, ratatouille and fresh bread from the bakery were just some of the luxuries we enjoyed. In fact, it was so relaxing we decided to stay an extra day even though we probably didn't have time. xxxx
