oh my. today i saw the place mozart was born. i can see mirabell gardens out the window of our hotel. i stood on the stairs where maria and the vonn trapp family sang do re mi in the gardens. i saw the gazeebo where lisel sang "i am 16 going on 17.. la la la la la laaaaa" in the sound of music. i went to a fortress that overlooked the city and the alps and danube river and saw the best view i think i've ever seen in my entire life. i really don't have time to write about everthing but i'm keeping a written journal and i'll update more when i can. we are leaving for prague at 7am and will stay there tomorrow night and leave the next day for london. shelby and i have been going crazy shopping.. i think our favorite store has been H&M. then we found out today that there are H&M's in the states... so shopping there isn't going to get us anything authentically european haha oh well... i think the greatest part of this whole trip has been the fact that i've been able to spend so much time with my cousins and tonya. we've gotten pretty close with some other families and it's really, really been a blast. oh! last night we had dinner at st. peter's restaurant, supposedly the oldest restaurant in europe. it was really great. we had a 7 yr old dressed as mozart play us music (mozart's) on the violin, and it was actually pretty enjoyable. i've been drinking white wine and austrian beer almost every night, and might i add austrian beer, coffee, and chocolate is the best i have ever had. really the best coffee i've had was in vienna..... and i am definitely DEFINITELY in love with that city. i am going back. now i have something else to work my butt off for haha...
