Traveled by bus coach to Glasgow today. After two full days in Edinburgh, I figured it was time for a change. It takes about an hour to get to the city from Edinburgh and I only paid 6 quid return trip. Fantastic deal.

When I got off the bus, I had that momentary second of panic when I turned around and had absolutely NO idea where I was going or what I was going to do. At this point, I did not even have a map to go off of. I supposed that the best thing to do was grab one of the tour buses that take you around the city. It was £9, but worth it considering I had no point of reference.

Basically, Glasgow proper is a blue-collar town. Known for shipbuilding back in the day, the city has had a hard time shaking itself of its reputation Buchanan Street

. Besides the city cent re, the outlying areas (save the University) are kind of run down. In the city cent re, however, are tons of shops, theatres, and restaurants.

I felt like I got more of the Scottish experience here as I heard the more traditional Scottish accent. I think all of my viewings of Trainspotting helped me work through the brogue. Although I had trouble with the main shopping pedestrian street "Sauchiehall." To the Scots it comes out sounding like "sucky whore."

Everyone there felt too cool for me though. All the kids/teens had on the absolute latest in 80s style. I felt like a complete fashion pariah. Mostly because my borrowed hairdryer and plug converter shorted out on me and I have been left working with crap hair for the past two days. Sorry to Lauren and Chrissy. Now I have to resort to finding Americans that will let me use their plug converters to charge my camera and iPod. No pictures until then......(I'm typing this from Dublin, so I hope I can find someone before I leave here).

Bollocks.
