Hello my dear family and friends, thank you for taking the time to read my blog!  I am going to try to keep it as up-to-date as possible!  It is now Saturday and I have been in Switzerland for 4 days now.  My flight on Tuesday night went just fine and I actually met up with Joey, a guy on my plane who is doing the same program.  We arrived in Geneva around 7:30 am.  A group of 8 of us got there around the same time so we all hung out.  We ended up waiting in the airport for six hours because a bus was coming to get everyone who is doing my program.  (which is about 36 people)

The first three days were comprised of a lot of meetings and paperwork.  Yesterday we recieved our class syllabus and schedule.  We get to go to the U.N. a total of four times for different lectures and I am really really excited about that!  They spent a lot of time telling us about our Independent Study Projects (which will begin in March)  I am definitely nervous about it but I think the research will be really interesting and will definitely help me to learn even more!

We will also be taking a French course while in Geneva.  Only myself and one other girl have never taken French before.  So it is possible that it may just be the two of us in a class together...which would definitely work to our advantage!

Ok probably what you all want to hear about the most....my host family!  I met them earlier this morning and have been in their house for a few hours now.  I will be living with a girl my age named Laure, her mother named France, and her brother who is 22. I am their 6th SIT homestay student, but the first girl they have ever taken in! Laure said she is happy to finally have a girl around. Laure is very sweet and I think we are going to get along well!  She speaks English and even studied English for 6 months in Canada. (she doesn't speak with a Canadian accent at all, but that would have been very funny.) And she has invited me to hang out with her and one of her friends tonight! Laure, France, and I went grocery shopping today and they also took me on a driving tour of Nyon (the town they live in.)  Everything is so cute!

The family lives on the 12th floor of an apartment building.  The apartment is rather spacious and I even have my own room!  The views are absolutely amazing! I will take pictures of them soon to post!

I'm having a hard time adjusting to the late dinner time here!  It's currently 5:50 pm and I am pretty hungry but we probably won't start eating until 7:30 pm.  Other than that, I am not finding it too difficult to adjust.  I am just soaking up everything around me.  I definitely miss home, and my lovely family and friends but I think that this experience will be really good for me!  I'm sorry if this post was boring hopefully I will have more fun stories for the next post!

All my love xo
