New Year's celebrations ended up being interesting enough. I ate soba with my host parents then we visited the Imari Shrine and Temple at midnight. On New Year's day we went to Kashima to visit a big Shrine. I wore a kimono. I don't think anyone else in Japan did though. At least someone is carrying on Japanese culture - even if it's a foreigner. Check out the pictures for a better 'picture' of what I did. :) Happy New Year!
