Remember when we cooked every meal in a wok?

Now that we're back on the road and traveling with the bare minimum, we had to leave the wok behind. In Oz we had Dion to cook for us, and while it was great, it always seemed as if something was missing: the wok. We came in Thailand, sure to experience the culture, but to be honest, we came for the food...the food they cook in a wok. For two weeks Molly and I have eaten like pros. If eating was an olympic sport we would be awarded a gold medal. But we knew our time would have to come to end at some point. One day we wouldn't have a little old Thai woman cooking our noodles. And since Molly and I know we will forever cook in a wok we decided it was only appropriate that we attend Thai Cooking school so our wok abilities would at least be put to some good use
After four hours at Thai Cooking school we are confident that we will be able to cook pad thai that would rival Bangkok or Siam Orchid once we're back home. Not only did we go to the market and learn what ingredients to buy, we prepared four meals, and left with a cook book. We ate pad thai, coconut milk and chicken soup, green curry and pork with holy basil.
And as I tried to prove before, Molly is a fabulous chef. Even Blink, our Thai cooking teacher, thought so. I suppose if you all continue not to trust her cooking she just won't wow you with her Asian cuisine when she returns. You better all think long and hard about the things you've said in the past and choose your words wisely in the future. And really I think that all of Molly's kitchen fauz pas have been a direct result of the people around her. Noone had the insight to give her a wok. Maybe then we would have seen Molly on the Food Network hosting the show "101 Ways to Use a Wok." A girl can dream, can't she?
