It started with a few cocktails at Buffalo, poured by our favorite manager, Azza, followed by a fantastic dinner at Pasta Pasta with our number one gal, Lindsay. Although it was one of the coldest nights we have had all season we were still more than keen to go out. I mean, we're always willing to go out...and tonight we had a more than good reason. It was Molly's birthday. And what a glorious affair it was.

We found our way to Winnie's where we met up with Seerla, Cathryn, and Jocelyn. There was pool to be played and shots to be had. It was there that Azza took a backseat and Bert came to steal the title of favorite manager. Bert organized a special shot for Molly that she took courtesy of our bartender Keiran and the vocal stylings of Fifty Cent in his hit song, "It's your birthday."

It is undecided how long we lasted at Winnie's before going back to Buffalo. Once there, however, it went compeletly downhill. Our general manager, Loren, was anxiously awaiting our arrival and once we were there the drinks didn't stop. Lucky for us, and him I suppose, he is a more than gracious boss and likes to make sure everyone stays happy. And happy to him is always having a full glass in your hand. And so, by default, we completely forgot about Azza and Bert and directed our full attention to Loren. We drank and danced at Buffalo for another undisclosed amount of time and then, again, went back to Winnie's.

Now, looking back, it has been decided that we did not need to go back to Winnie's. We were good and drunk and probably not making the best impression to those we worked with. It could have only been 2:30 at this point because the bar was closing and our friends wanted to begin cleaning the bar. I took it upon myself to go tell the lingering group that we didn't know that they had to leave. I told them I owned the bar and they couldn't stay but then offered them a list of bars they could indeed go to instead. I think they believed me, but then my own bar staff kicked me/us out as well. So we just went to the next bar instead...

It isn't often that we find ourselves in a bar other than Winnie's or Buffalo so this was a real treat. Too bad that we don't remember it too well. Loren kept buying us drinks but then it turns out that everyone just left. Molly and I had played like champs and outlasted everyone.

The night ended with a rather drunk walk home...or maybe we took a cab...who knows. Either way I made it safetly to my bed. As I lay there, knowing any second I would be asleep, I heard a horrible crash in the room next door. In my half comotose state I decided it could just wait until the morning. I couldn't be bothered to get up and see if Molly was okay.

Turns out, Molly was was our brand new roommate, Cathryn, whose wellbeing was put in jeopardy. As Molly walked in to their room, she tripped and fell right onto a sleeping Cathryn. Yes.

Molly's birthday was a huge success. While I was given the award for "best amateur performance" by bartenders Brian and Keiran (because apparently I can't be a professional queenstown drinker until i make it a full night with the two of them), it was a uniamous decision by all that Molly and I are really fun girls. Not that I need to tell you all that...

Loren was proud that his birthday present went over well. We didn't know that his birthday surprise all along was a bonefide hangover. What a thoughtful guy.

Hopefully I will be treated just as well next month...
