Hello from Greece! We got here around 11 am after taking at 620 am flight (not so pleasant in case you're wondering...which if you are what's wrong with you?). As soon as we landed, Nina asked about 5 different people how to say "thank you" in Greek (a basic term we knew would be useful). After several tries and a quick look at the pronunication key in our travel book, we think we've finally mastered it - although the word still sounds something like "Fred Astair"...Anyway, after hopping the metro we found our way to our hostel and unloaded our stuff before setting off to see the Acropolis. However, before we could do this, we had to pick-up our ferry tickets for our trip to Mykonos tomorrow morning. I consulted the map and navigated us to the address of the Hellenic Seaways office from the info I got from the Greek Ferries website (where I booked our tickets). It was about a 10 minute walk in the blazing heat but finally we arrived. However, upon closer inspection we saw that the office was now an empty building space with just the logo of the ferry company still displayed on the outside Brad Pitt's twin in the background hiding his face

. You have to love the Greek and their efficiency...ugh. After dealing with our first snafu, we decided to forget about it and just head to the Acroplis. After an uphill hike (again in the scorching weather), we arrived. It was completely unbelievable - from the ruins to the incredible views of the city. I think I got sunburned (shocker) but it's a small price to pay to visit such an amazing site.

During our time at the Acropolis, we met a few other travelers from Boston and Canda and wandered with them though the Plaka where we are staying. We shopped for a bit then stopped for some shade and a cold drink. We noticed a gorgeous man sitting behind us who greatly resembled Brad Pitt...Seriously, no joke the resemblance was ridiculous. He definitely knew we were talking about him the entire time and Nina was even bold enough to take a picture of him. I can't wait to post that one...

We're about to go out in Athens and tomorrow morning we leave for Mykonos. Erica and Nina promise to post new items very soon. Get ready!

.
Some say love, it is a river
that drowns the tender reed.
Some say love, it is a razor
that leaves your soul to bleed.

Some say love, it is a hunger,
an endless aching need.
I say love, it is a flower,
and you it's only seed.

It's the heart, afraid of breaking,
that never learns to dance.
It's the dream, afraid of waking,
that never takes a chance.

It's the one who won't be taken,
who cannot seem to give.
And the soul, afraid of dying,
that never learns to live.

When the night has been too lonely,
and the road has been too long,
And you think that love is only
for the lucky and the strong,

Just remember in the winter
far beneath the bitter snow,
Lies a seed, that with the sun's love,
in the spring becomes a rose
