Where I stayed

My reason for stopping in Winston-Salem was to visit the campus of UNCSA (University of North Carolina School of Arts) to try to meet with someone and discuss their acting program.  I also hoped to possibly meet some students and faculty or sit in on a class.  As this was Sunday, I would have to wait out the day in town and call first thing in the morning.

Given that I was up rather late the night before I slept in a bit.  Once I was up, I decided to go check out what was playing at the movie theater.  I ended up going to see Repo Men.  Not a bad movie.  An interesting plot line, however hard to swallow the ideas may have been.  I'd have to see it's one of the more realistic views of the future I've seen in a movie as far as the scenery goes.  In any case, it ate up some of the day and kept me entertained.

To fill up the rest of the day, I drove around looking for a nearby business that offered free wi-fi.  I tried McDonald's first, but couldn't get a good enough signal outside.  My next stop was Starbucks, and despite the fact that they use the same company as McDonald's (AT&T) for their wi-fi, Starbucks feels the need to charge for the connection.  My last attempt was Barnes & Nobles.  I guess the third time really is the charm.  I found a parking spot right up front and had a great connection.  I spent the next two and a half or three hours in their parking lot working on photos and trying to catch up on these entries.

After I decided to quit for the night, I headed back to the same Wal-Mart to get some sleep so I could get up early in the morning and call the university.
