Where I stayed
We finally make it to our hotel in Amman around two, where we meet one of our new travelers, Travis. After a lengthy taxi ride to the mall, it's nearly four and no one's had lunch yet. The mall is a pathetic thing, with almost no customers, most shops closed for the weekend, and only one restaurant. But it's actually quite a good restaurant
The next morning is the first decent breakfast in a while, followed by a trip to the Amman citadel and museum. Settlements at the citadel date back over 7000 years. It's home to both the Roman Temple of Hercules and the Umayyid Mosque. Museum exhibits include the Dead Sea Scrolls and some of the oldest sculptures ever found.
We spend the afternoon in Jerash, a former Roman city similar to Palmyra. The ruins are getting a little familiar at this point, but Jerash is still a fun experience.
