Well we're still in Sydney. It really is a great city, very modern but with its own character. The apartment is going well, starting to feel like a home already. The only thing is that we're spending more time in it than we'd like.

We still haven't found a job. Don't get me wrong, its not like there aren't any jobs, there are tonnes of jobs advertised online and everywhere else. Its just that the employers don't want to employ people who are on our type of visa. So even if you are qualified for a job they won't even interview you when they see what visa you have. The problem is that we can only work for 3 months for any one employer before we have to change jobs and most employers want someone for longer than that. You can kinda see their point in fairness.

Even in shops and restaurants they are the same, they only want someone who can work long term. But something will turn up at some stage I'm sure. Aishling got some short term office work through a temp agency, and they want to interview her for some longer term work too, which is promising. We've both applied to loads of temp agencies and have done interviews and tests with them (they all want you to do MS Office tests). They all tell you the same thing too "Oh you did very well, you're on top of our list and we should have something for you shortly". Well we'll just have to wait it out anyway.

I know its sounds as if we're having an awful time but its not like that at all. We're having a great time here. Its just that you start running out of ideas for things to do and then the boredom kicks in. There's only so many times you can watch the sun go down behind the opera house and harbour bridge.

I think the best thing we've seen so far in Sydney was the aquarium. You can walk through this underwater tunnell while HUGE sharks, fish, turtles and manta rays swim around you. They had a Great White in the tank a few weeks before we got there but they had to get rid of it because it kept eating all the other fish (speaking of Great Whites only yesterday a diver was eaten by one. And not just bitten - EATEN!! Shark attacks are on the increase here too, twice as many as normal). They even had a platypus tank which was cool. It really was fantastic, highly reccommended.

Anyway, thats the story here in Sydney. There's some photos attached if you're interested.
