Well we made it in one piece. Sun tan and all. It was kinda sad to end our Asian Odessey. Not working or cooking your own meals for 3 months has its attractions. It was a long time, and a short time all at once. We did so much yet another 3 months could easily have been filled with as much fun.

To be honest it wasn't really enough time. There was loads that we didn't get to do because we didn't have enough time. Sure we can always do it on the way back.

Sydney was a shock to the body. Its a stunning city with a great skyline but its freezing here, right in the middle of winter. Its easy to forget that when you've been in places that are never out of the 30's for 3 months. Its only 15 degress here. We've been told thats about as cold as it gets so hopefully they were right. We had no warm cloths in our backpacks so we had to spend a fortune in the first couple of days to get some. Someone delightfully informed us that Sydney has now slipped just ahead of Dublin as one of the most expensive cities in the world. Great, the high prices are following us around.

And they weren't joking, everything is very expensive, from clothing to food to mobile phone charges.

There's an apartment waiting for us to move into as I write this. Most of our time since we came here has been spent looking for a place to live. Its not easy, lots of places are grossly over priced and look awful. We saw lots of really terrible places (shitholes would be a good desription, you wouldn't let a dog live in them) and only about 3 nice ones. One of the nice ones is in Potts Point, a small one bed apartment. Thats where we're moving into today. Nice area and close to the city. All we want really.

I reckon we'll probably spend about a week or so doing touristy stuff before we start the unwelcome business of looking for a job. So I might stick up an obligatory photo of the harbour bridge and opera house during the week. I'll let you know when its up anyway.

Well I'll talk to you soon, I'm just gonna go throw a few shrimp on the barbie!! (Sorry!!)
