So did you guess where we came to next or what? We had a reasonably nice Air France flight from Hanoi to Bangkok. They charged us $14 for a crappy Airport tax in Hanoi, only seems to happen in Asian airports, but its a pain coz no one tells you about it until you get to the immigration checks and you have to go all the way back to pay it.

Anyway, Bangkok definately wasn't as bonkers as a lot of people led us to believe. It's madder than Dublin alright, and very noisy, but it hasn't got a patch on Hanoi traffic. Crossing the road was a breeze compared to Hanoi.

Our hotel was nicely located next to the Sky Train so we can zip anywhere in the city fairly quickly. We popped over to the night market one evening and scoured round the stalls looking for cheap deals on designer imitations. Great fun bargaining them down, they always start at a ridiculously high price and you can always get them down to a ridiculously low one. They're pretty good imitations too, you'd never know. CD's and DVD's are for nothing as well, must stock up.

The market is right in the heart of the Red Light district with ladys girating on poles behind you while you bargain down the price of your Ray Bans. It's absolutely blatant. Blokes kept running up to me offering a choice of ladys, drugs, ladys with drugs, sex shows, pussy ping pong (I'll leave that one to your imagination) and anything else that may or may not tickle your fancy, they even offered me guys!! All this right in front of Aishling as if she wasn't there. Mad stuff.

But apart from that aspect of Bangkok the rest is really nice. We went to what was possibly the coolest cinema in the universe to see War of The Worlds on its opening night. You get a big comfy Lay Z Boy style chair with built in massage, a blanket, socks, and a free drink and snack. Very plush, shame about the movie though. Started off promising but went downhill from there.

Just a short 3 day stop in Bangkok before we head to Cambodia. We decided it would be ok to go there, we were'nt sure about it after the western kids were held hostage there a few weeks ago but it was apparently an isolated incident. We got our visas here too coz you can end up having to pay over the odds to corrupt officials at the border.

Not too much touristy stuff this time around. We're saving it for when we come back to Bangkok in a few days.
