Thurs Oct 22 1 PM

hey, whats up...so we have now spent two nites on the isand of ko phi phi...we left ao nang/railey beach on tuesday oct 20 around 10 am and arrrived on the island shortly after 5 PM...we took a long tail boat from railey beach to ao nang, a taxi to krabi, and then a ferry to ko phi phi...we talked to the welsh girls we met in ko phangan and they suggested these simple bungalows to the left of the pier at the very end of the beach....the bungalows are the simplest weve had thus far, with thatched roofs, walls and floors...it really feels like youre going to fall right through....the scenery makes up for the housing though...theres an enoumous cliff directly infront of our front porch, that wraps around the cove of the crescent shaped beach..its pretty cool...as for the nite life here...wow, the biggest spider ive ever scene just dropped down from his web and behind the computer, im backing my chair up...anyway, the first nite we arrived here there were three beach parties we decided to check out...wouldve been a great idea if i had chosen to familiarize myself with the island first...after hitting a really chill bar called the hippie bar, a more dance scene called cancun bar, and finishing up the night at the tiger bar, everyone in the initail crew split ways...i found myself on the other beach opposite our end, and unable to navigate my way home...luckily this beach was as nice if not nicer than ours, so needless to say i couldve been in a much worse situation....i snagged some nearby beach chairs and decided to set up a place to crash for the night...after consturcting my beach front fort, i decided to go in search for some food....at this point in the evening, it was about 3 or 4 so naturally everything was closed up for the night...i walked up to a now vacant open air beach bar/restuarant and stumbled upon an ice cream cooler...now, these ice cream coolers are everywhere, with every kind of cone and popscicle imagianable...its kind of running joke between myself and the brits because i seriously eat around three cones a day...so to me this was hitting the jackpot...usually the coolers are locked up after close, but as i slid the top door open this was obviously not the case.....i looked around in disbelief, this was def too good to be true....my sense of paranoia soon set in and i came to the conclusion that this was all a set up...i used my better judgement and in an effort not to obtain any bad karma i closed the cooler and retreated to my fort...i woke up around sun up, found my way back to the bungalow and told my ice cream story....no one could believe that i excercised such self restraint...haha...anyway, its been kinda rainy since weve been here, and were waiting on the first clear day to check out the island ko phi phi le, home to the famous beach in the movie "the beach" ...i just tried to upload some pics but the usb connection shocked me pretty badly, so no dice today...ill get around to it soon...thats about it, nothing too interesting this go round...the sun is out now though, so think im hitting the beach...thats all for now...bye...

From so far away...
Michael Durham. I was just in the worst mood ever sitting at work and was thinking how I missed you- So, naturally I decided to become superbly jealous and see where you are now.....can I just tell you that I smiled and laughed out loud for the first time today when I read your ice cream story. So unbelievably you. Thank you for somehow making me smile from so far away. I love you. Be careful!
