Got up early to get a jump on the sunrise and because I really couldn’t get to sleep thanks to the raccoon incident the night before.
Headed down to the banks of the Pascagoula (Singing River), which according to legend, got its name from when the Pascagoula Indians walked hand in hand into the river to take their lives rather than live with the hostile Biloxi Indians in the area. I admire their dedication to a plan but now they missed out on all that casino money.
Speaking of casinos, Biloxi and Gulfport are on the way along US 90 W and I decided to stop, not to gamble but to witness the shrimp boats already coming in with the morning catches.

Finally made it to the KOA campgrounds in Denham Springs, LA, just down the road from Baton Rouge. Not a scenic as my previous night but the ground is softer and Carol at the front desk promised no raccoons but there might be a drunk or two that wanders through from the bar down the road.
