Alright, sooooo...... (as continued from the previous entry) 200 miles on some crazy back road (part of which was spent behind some ridiculous truck going 45mph on a two lane road!) later, we turned onto the vermillion cliffs scenic drive and headed toward the north rim of the Grand Canyon. We saw some of the most incredible sights I think I've ever seen on a drive anywhere.... and I've been a few places. Words and pictures, unfortunately, could never capture what my eyes saw today. (but I'll post em and try to explain anyway!) Oh and in addition to all of these beautiful sights, we saw tons of HUGE rocks that had fallen off the tops of the cliffs ( and the left over hut of some cliff dwellers!)

We took said scenic drive for what seemed like days and continents through desert, mountain, canyon rim, small town, nothingness, etc. Eventually we started approaching the border of Utah (where it meets Arizona) and embarked on the wildest ride through mountain passes I've ever driven (I've never really driven mountain passes, but I'm sure these are crazy! Hahaha). We were 6000 or so feet in the air going around sharp curves on the edge of a cliff with semi's coming at me on the corners at like a million miles per hour. Ahhhhhh...... the look on our faces...... hahaha.

We lived. (thank God!)

After that madness... we drove up and down and inside and around and upside down and did backflips around mountains..... ok, not really, but we did drive through and up and down mountains for another 100 miles or so until we finally got to the Utah border! At that point, my nerves needed a break, and our stomachs were hollering since we hadn't eaten since breakfast (I refused to eat the buffalo jerky on the side of the road or the hot dogs from the coyote cafe out in the boondocks so we drove another 65 miles or so to the nearest wendy's. Oh God I've never been so happy to eat Wendy's. You have no idea. I was like a kid (a fat kid mind you) at Christmas! ---- tearing open the wendy's sandwich like never before.

After wendy's we left refreshed (well as refreshed as you can be at that point) and full (real full) and looked for the entrance to I-15 from all these back roads we'd been on for hours. We finally spotted it and hopped on ASAP. We took a pretty uneventful trip on I-15 for about 4 hours... got a hotel room booked for tonight..... drove around some more mountains, and hung out on some pretty dark stretches of interstate. (Who knew there was pretty much NOTHING from the border of Utah until about 4 hours into Utah near Provo? Well, except for Beaver City of course!)

Now we're here, at the lovely fairfield in in provo, utah where we will most likely do some crazy stretches and sleep like little babies.

Hope you all enjoy the stories! More to come tomorrow :)
