My roommate Kristen and I have been talking about studying abroad in Ireland for a good year. Just now, starting our junior year, it is finally time for sign ups. Past students told us that we should camp out the night before to guarantee a spot for us on the trip seeing they only take the first 55 students and it is very competitive. We figured we should make the best of it so we went out shopping for some camping gear. We purchased a junior scout tent, lantern and a couple of sleeping bags. Excited for our "night in the wild" we packed our bags and headed to campus around 3pm. The sign ups were not until 9am the next morning. When we got to school there were already 59 students ahead of us all waiting in line! Luckily for us they extended the number to 70 so after a long night of no sleep we got our applications and took the first step towards our adventures in Ireland.
