Our flight from Dulles to San Francisco was uneventful. I was surprised at the amount of snow still on the Rocky Mountains. We touched down in San Francisco with the softest landing I think I have ever experienced on a commercial flight.

Melinda and I deplaned, then discovered that our Taipei flight was departing from the International Concourse on the other side of the airport. We had about 45 mins to find it. As we were trekking out to the main common area, we passed a huge line that terminated at a sign saying "bus to international conourse". The United attendent barricading the entrance informed us that we could ride the bus to our destination and that it would be there in about 20 mins or we could walk around to the terminal entrance in about 5 mins. There were about 200 people in line ahead of us so we opted to walk.

What we failed to comprehend was that if we walked to the terminal entrance we would have to go back through the main security line before getting to the concourse. Thank GOD the line ws relatively short and we made it through in a mere 20 mins. That wait, combined with our walk gave us less than 10 mins to make it onto our flight. After a brisk walk/run down the concourse and a moment of panic when we thought the plane doors had closed, we finally walked onto the Boeing 777 that would take us to Taipei.
