The Cooney cousins met up in Tokyo last night for some serious fun. We started the evening at this place called The English Hub. They served up half off cocktails and beer until 7pm.  We ate some nasty fried bar snacks and drank well drinks together. The group included my cousin Tara and her buddy who married a Japanese girl! He is now living in Yokohama with her.  Tara had come to Japan to visit them. Kevin's girlfriend, Aki showed up and so did this British guy Matt who is friends with my cousin Kevin.  Poor Ryan could not join us because he got out of work too late to make the trip into Tokyo.

After we exhausted the happy hour deal we decided it would be fun to go to a Karaoke place together. So, we got a corner room with a cool window overlooking downtown Tokyo. The room was circular in shape and had one huge round booth with a big table in front. The TV was in front of that and there were two microphone and a list of songs Happy hour at The English Hub.

. You programmed what you wanted to sing into a little electric pad and up came the song on the TV. It was just your group in the room and the waiters came and brought food and drinks. They charge by the hour and you just shut your door and sing and have a good time. It was incredibly fun. I stayed out too late and got the last train back home. I slept in like a teenager today and it is now 12:15pm and I am still in my PJ's. It was a great cousin reunion but think I need a few years to recover before we try that again.

Ryan and I are planning on going to Kyoto this weekend. My blog after that trip will be a bit more cultural than this one and hopefully just as much fun.
