Hi All,

We arrived safely in Vernon around 8pm on Friday night after probably the most interesting 11 hour I have ever made. Carrie managed to get sleep a few times, and I stayed awake and enjoyed the scenery, or read my photography magazine for the duration of the trip. I've attached some photos below of the trip and what we saw. As we went through the outskirts of Vancouver it was pouring with rain - everything was lush and green, and as we moved higher into the mountains, we started to see patches of snow, until the snow became thick on the sides of the road, and covered everything including the tops of trees. In some areas, the snow was more then 5 feet and built right up on the sides of the road, and even in the middle of the highway. Then we hit a snow storm and had to slow right down. (photos below)

A few more hours later and we arrived in Vernon and met up with Mark who picked us up and took us to their house. On Saturday, we went for a walk around lake Kalamalka which was awesome - for some reason the wind was really strong, and small waves were forming on the lake - it wasn't frozen over like some of the other smaller lakes in the region.

We went to a cool coffee shop, built a snow man with Mark and Shane, generally relaxed, and did some shopping. I bought a soft-gun which unfortunately I cant take back to Australia :-(
