The Wall was amazing. The section of the wall we visited was called Mutianyu. It was a worthwhile hike. Scenery was a bit muted by the smog that managed to make it all the way out (it was a 45-60min drive out of Beijing).

We enjoyed Beijing very much. We were right near Tianamen Square and just up from there was the very atmospheric Forbidden City.

Tuesday before we left Campbell and I found the Samoan Embassy to see what resources there were for trying to find out information about the Chinese going to Samoa and ultimately more information about my grandfather. Spent a nice 2 hours chatting with the ambassador about what was and wasn't available and he was able to give me a couple of contacts for information otherwise the records are in Samoa.

This is just a quick entry, I will add more later and try and post photos now!!!
