August 11 - by Katelyn

Today we rode on a yacht in the Chesapeake

Today we woke up early and went to one of Pop-Pop's Rotary Club friend’s yacht for a party. When we first got to the boat we had food, and we played with two little dogs named Bella and Lilly.  The yacht was so cool because it was big and well designed.  We had a little bit of time to explore the boat before we left, so I looked around a bit and saw all of the rooms.  On the top floor there was a rectangular area where you could get some sun and the boat captain could drive.  I forgot to say the name of the boat, but it is call Miss Trish Won.  It is named after the wife of the couple that owns the boat, Trish. When you go 1 floor down, there is a big living space, a kitchen, and a dining room.  There a many fancy sofas and chair in the living space that I really liked.  When you walked to the kitchen, there are 2 little doors a tiny little bit past it where you could go outside to the front of the boat.  My favorite part of the boat was the lowest floor, and I liked it because it was nice and cozy.  There were 2 sections leading to the bottom floor.  The different sections were not connected so we would have to go back up to the living space to go down to the other section of the "basement".  When you went into one of the basements there were 3 bedrooms and two bathrooms that slept 6 people in just that section of the lowest floor.  There was 1 room with 2 twin beds set up on the far two sides of the room.   This room was nice and cozy, but not my favorite.  The next room is my favorite of all the rooms.  It was really small and had a private bathroom, but I liked it because of the cool bunk beds and the theme.  The style was sort of African and safari.  There were a bunch of fake grassy plants, and fake zebra skin chests.  I was a real big fan of the zebra chests because they were not real zebra skins, and they were really pretty.  The bedspreads for the bunk beds were two symmetrical quilts that had a bunch of fake safari animal skins sewed together.  The room also had a TV with speakers overhead.  The last room in this section was a room with a queen bed that had a yellow bedspread.  In the other section of the basement there was a huge room with a king bed in it.  This was the room that the couple slept in.  The room also had a very nice bathroom.  That is what the AWESOME boat looked like.  I almost forgot that this yacht had a little motorized speedboat which can be lowered into the water.  When the yacht started to move we just played around and hung out at the boat.  I was talking to a nice lady who talked to me about what it was like growing up as a black girl, and I told her about George Washington Carver, Booker T. Washington, some other black people that we learned about on the trip. At one point, while we stopped, I went into the speedboat and we went 49 mph at our top speed!  When I was at the front of the little boat I was bouncing up and down like I was on a roller coaster ride.  I even felt my lips curl back!  When we got back from the little boat I went swimming.  The water felt so nice under the hot sun.  I took my shirt of and dived right off of the back of the boat!  I was surprised at how warm the water was when I first got in.  When Emma got in the water with me I could tell that she was scared of fish and sharks because she kept swimming under me to make sure that I was on the outside.  She also kept kicking me in the stomach while I was swimming.   How annoying!  Then, we went back to the boat and headed to the dock.  At the dock I crocheted a little bit, and a nice lady taught me 2 more stitches.  All of the people we met on the yacht from the Rotary Club were super nice!  Then, we went back to the RV and went to bed.  I had an AWESOME day!
