August 12 - by Emma

Today when I woke up I was really excited because we were going to be home today!!! I am most excited to see my dog because every day I run my hand through his hair, and I miss that! Before we left to go to the house we had to clean up the RV a bit. When we started driving I couldn't stop smiling, and when we got to the places that I recognized I was sooooooooooo happy.  I didn't want to go home because that means I have to go to school.  I like learning, but I would rather learn with my dad because he is so nice and makes learning so much more fun than just sitting somewhere with pages of work to do.  When we saw our house I was tempted to just open the door and run up to the door to see Max, but I could get hurt, and Madison and Katelyn would be jealous.  When we finally got to get out of the RV we saw max running down our hill, and he was sooo much chubbier, and looked like he needed to lay down because he was hot.  I wasn’t sad but there were tears coming down my cheeks and I never in my life had cried of joy.   When we got into the house I saw the new kitchen and it looked awful compared to the other one.  The reason why my mom got it re-done is because she wanted to have more space to cook, but she barley created any more space.  The only thing I like about it is that we got cool things like a drawer were you put food in and it warms it up really fast, and a microwave drawer that slides to open and close.  I was really excited to be home because I have my own bed and I am with Max.  For the whole day we pampered Max and took things up to the house from the RV.  When we were eating dinner I had so much space and was able to rest my arms out and not have to put them on my side when I ate!  It felt really good to sleep in my own bed, and not sleep with my sisters.  I am happy we are done the trip now, but I know that later I will wish I could do it again!

Today we went home!!

Today we cleaned up the RV for about 30 minutes.  Then, we examined mushrooms that were growing on a water hose outside of the RV.  They were so hilarious because they were bright red and crinkly.  After we cleaned up, we started our 45 minute drive back to our house!  On the drive everything seemed so familiar, and I could remember what stores would come next.  I sort of wanted to see Pocopson Elementary on the way back because that place is almost like home to me.  I go there almost every day, and that is where I can see many of my friends.  When we first pulled into our cul-de-sac I almost started crying of joy, and when I stepped out of the RV I actually did!  Max was not at all what I expected.  Mom said that he was in great shape and he was not sick, but when I saw him he was fat and his ears were infected!  Now my least favorite part of the trip comes: unpacking.  I had to bring a lot of things up from the RV and put them in the kitchen.  It was a wreck.  By the way, the kitchen looked pretty good except for that the painting was done poorly, the fridge was a smudgy stainless steel, and the kitchen was not done.  Then, we got to play for a little bit and I got to sleep in my own bed. That was awesome!  While I was sleeping Max had to go out into the hall a couple of times because he got really hot and he could not sleep in bed with me.  Poor him!  I wish that the fuzzy little dog could lie at my feet.  I had a great day.
