Today had a relaxing Day at Cumberland Gap
Today we got up and ate breakfast. A big storm came through with very big hail. We spent half the day doing math on IXL. I did not even master one! After that we watched a movie and it was already 7:00. Next we ate dinner, studied the presidents, and went to bed. I had a very relaxing day.

Today we rode our bikes around Cumberland Gap
Today we rode our bikes around Cumberland Gap National Park. The first trail that we went on was a skinny unpaved trail that was all up hill. I have never mountain biked before, so this was hard for me, but my Dad said that what goes up, must come down! When I first went on this trail I did not even think it was a bike trail, but Dad said that it was, so we went on it. When we finally finished this horrible trail we came upon the tiny little town of Cumberland Gap where we ate a delicious grilled cheese with fries.

Today we left Cumberland Gap
Today we went to the Visitors Center here and got the JR Ranger book. Then we watched the park movie. In it I learned that Daniel Boone was an explorer who loved Kentucky. Daniel made several trips through Cumberland Gap. Then, on one trip he took his family out west and his son James got shot by Native Americans and he died. Later he went back and his second son Israel was also shot, and he too died. Finally Daniel went back one more time and he settled there.
