July 4 - by Emma

Today we went to the Denver Airport at 8:00 to drop off Ryan, and pick up my mom. Once we got to the airport we dropped off Ryan, and then drove to a gas station near the airport.  Once we found out that Ryan was all ready for his flight we drove back to our campsite in Denver.  When we got there we went in the RV to do some math on IXL.   What was really funny was right when I finished my IXL my mom arrived!  I was a little disappointed because her plane was supposed to land much earlier.  I also was really excited to see my mom because I hadn't seen her in 1 month.   Then we went in Denver, and went in a mall.   There we went in a lot of shops, and we went to a Cheesecake Factory for dinner.  At the Cheesecake Factory I had a really good pizza.   Also, I had an amazing Hershey’s Chocolate Cheesecake.   After we were done dinner we went back to the RV, and watched a movie, and then we went to bed.

July 5 - by Madison

Today was a very exciting day because I was going to visit the house that I first lived in, the hospital that I was born in, the place where I watched my first concert, and the stadium that I watched my first baseball game in. Since my old house was the closest to the campground we decided to visit it first.  When we got to the house I was surprised that it was so big because it looked like a house that 4 people could live in.  My Mom and Dad said that it looked the same as it did before.  My Mom really wanted to go into the back yard because that was her favorite part of the house, but when she rang the doorbell the owners weren't home.  I really liked visiting my old house because I liked knowing that it was still in good shape, and to see where I lived in in my baby life. After we left my house we drove to the hospital that I was born in, and this hospital is called Exempla Lutheran Medical Center.  It was a big hospital that looked really welcoming.  Even though I really wanted to see the room that I was born in, my Dad said I couldn’t.  When we finished walking around the hospital we left to see the Red Rock Amphitheater.  The Red Rock Amphitheater was a lot different than I expected.  I was expecting an amphitheater in a rock, but the amphitheater was surrounded by Red Rocks.  We went into a museum where we looked at all of the people that have performed here in the past.   I was surprised that Santana played here because all of the other people that played here were rock-n-roll stars.  When we left the amphitheater we drove to the Colorado Rockies Stadium.  I wish that we could watch a game here, but the Rockies are away.  When we got there we took a picture in front of a statue that was there when I was a baby.  I liked the Rockies Stadium from the outside, but I wish I could have a tour of the inside also.   After we visited the stadium we drove back to the campground.  Here we ate dinner, played with Emma’s toy helicopter, skipped stones in the lake, and then went to bed.  I had a really fun day today, and I hope I can visit Denver again (my Dad says this is his favorite city and wants to move back here!).

I remember your house too Madison~~PopPop and I came out for a visit in Jan--you were 2 months. PopPop stayed for a few days & then went home and I stayed and took care of you when your mom went back to work (for a week I think). Your room was right in the front and I remember standing at the window looking out at the mountains--so pretty. I would take u for walks in the stroller up and down those hills! (Careful not to let go of handle when walking down!) I would miss the ocean if I lived out there.
Another singer by the name of John Tesh has done concerts at Red Rocks--I have the CD's. Beautiful!

Madison - How special that you got to visit your place of birth on this trip! We also remember visiting your parents at your old house when you were still inside your Mom's belly! We recall taking a beautiful walk at the Red Rock Park, where Uncle David stopped your mom from stepping onto a rattlesnake just seconds before it was too late! He credits himself as having saved yours & your mom's lives because of that incident :)! Hope you & your travel crew will have continue to have great discoveries during the rest of your trip! Karuna & Clara send their hugs & kisses to you all!
