Today we went kayaking in Lake Powel

Today I got up and we went kayaking to Antelope Point, in Lake Powell. At first I was really frustrated because I was in a kayak with Emma and she was not cooperating.  I was really excited to get out and start kayaking again, but once I started I was really tired until I got the hang of it.   After we took our first stop we ate lunch, played in the water, and fished.  In the water I played horse with Madison.  You play horse by getting on your hands and knees, and then Madison gets on you.  While we were playing this I spotted 3 fish and they were creepy so I had to stop playing.   When I was here I had a really great view of the canyon that was around us.  It was so beautiful because there was the canyon on both sides of you and when you looked up you could see the canyon and the sky.  I think that the two different colors go together really nicely.  After that I went into the kayak with Madison and finished our trip.  When we got there, there was a sand bar and we walked on it. I really liked doing this because the sand was really squishy.  After that we turned around and started heading back out to the dock.  On the way back we were racing Emma and Dad, but Madison and Emma got into a fight and Emma ended up with a paddle hitting her.  Once we started going again I saw a 30 foot cliff that people were jumping off into the water.   I really wanted to do that, so Dad said that I could if I wanted to.  When I got up there my heart started pumping real fast because it looked way longer when you look at it with a bird's eye view, and it was twice as tall as the jump into Crater Lake.   Once I finally got my act together I jumped!  It was awesome!  When I was falling I felt like I was going down a really steep roller coaster.  It was so fun that I did it 3 times.  Emma kept wanting to do it, but she got really scared so she did not do it.  I got really mad at her because she promised that she would do it, but she never did.   After that we went back to the dock.  Next we ate dinner and we went to bed.  I had a pretty good day.

Today we hung out Lake Powell

Today I woke up and we drove to the Glen Canyon Visitors Center.  When we got there I went across a bridge overlooking the Glen Canyon Dam.  While I was on the bridge I was reminded of the Hoover Dam because it looked the same.  The similarities are that they are both going across the Colorado River, they are both arch bridges, and they are both overlooking a big cement dam.  After we went across the bridge we went on a tour of the dam.  I learned that the Hoover dam is 16 feet taller than the Glen Canyon Dam.  Another fact that I learned is that the dam produces water for 14 million people.  One last interesting fact that I learned is that after the dam was built, Lake Powell took 17 years to fill.  After the tour we went to the Visitors Center and got two JR Ranger badges.  One was for Rainbow Bridge and one for Lake Powell. Then we went back to the RV and drove to Wal-Mart to get food and final supplies for our Grand Canyon rim-to-rim hike.  There, I also got baby lotion.  After that we went to the pool and went swimming, ate dinner, and watched a movie.
