Shanksville, Pennsylvania

(by Emma)

Today my Dad woke-up early and started the drive to Pennsylvania.  I was very excited because we are going to be home very soon.  We stopped at the sign when we entered Pennsylvania and took a picture.

We went to the place where Flight 93 crashed on September 11, 2001.  40 people were killed when it crashed.  One of the passengers was even pregnant.  It crashed upside down at 563 miles per hour.  It crashed in a cornfield.  The team that wanted to take over the plane was called Al Qaeda.  Al Qaeda targeted the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and the U.S. Capitol.  When the terrorists took over Flight 93 the passengers were able to call friends and family.  They found out that other planes crashed into the World Trade Center and the Pentagon.  They realized that their plane was part of the attack, and then they fought the terrorists so that the plane would not crash into the US Congress Building.  They are now heroes, and that is why they are building a memorial to honor the people who fought the terrorists.

After we went to the Flight 93 memorial we stopped at a Walmart to shop, and we saw somebody get arrested for stealing.  There were 3 police cars, and they put her in handcuffs.  She had a son that was about 12 years old and he had to go into the police car also.
