Randolf Center, Vermont to Lake George, New York

We wake up today and it is a bit dryer, but we are still not seeing the sun.  I get up early to spend an hour finalizing the blog entries, so they can be sent out this morning.  We publish the entries through Maine, a bit later than we intended!

By mid-morning the skies have cleared some, and the girls are in the Rec Hall at the campground playing Ping Pong and Shuffleboard.  Thank goodness for that center, because it filled many hours with the rain!  The girls were having so much fun that we did not pull out until 2pm.  Today Emma was my co-pilot for almost all of the 120 miles and 2.5 hours.  It was a real nice drive as we left the mountains, and Emma could see the change in landscape as we left the mountains of Vermont and moved into New York.  We had a nice discussion about what we have seen and what is upcoming. We see our first 'Bear Crossing' sign, but still no sign of any bear or moose!

When we arrive at Lake George, the weather has actually turned to nice, with the sun shining for the first time in days.  We change our campsite to one that is next to the playground, and the girls have a great time playing for over an hour while I set-up camp and prepare them a dinner of pasta salad with red pepper and cucumber.  The salad is a hit, and everyone has seconds. They go outside to play again after dinner, and I join them at 7:30 to light a fire to cook smores.  Unfortunately Madison falls on the playground and seems to strain a muscle in her arm, so we will have to see how she feels in the morning.

We come in just in time to receive a Skype call from Xiu, who looked quite tired tonight.  The girls cleaned up and went to bed by 9:30.  We will continue to Cooperstown, NY in the morning.
