Hello all,

Went for our welcome meeting with Koala Tours. Met up with two English couples - Rebecca & Fin & Za Za and Phil - good guys. Before we boarded the Pride of Airlie at around 3.00 we met John, Tracey, Martina and Cathal from Meath (it just so happened that we met them in the offies). When we got on the boat we got our safety talk etc and then we all had a glass of champagne :). Everyone was just getting to know each other and having a few drinks. Got talking to Dave and Kirstin - really nice couple. Weather was absolutely amazing.

We headed straight for our resort on South Molle Island by which time we were all half cut and up for a big night. Met at 7 for dinner - meals weren't that great. After this we had drinking games organised by Mazza (Dutch) who was absolutely bonkers!! Aye aye captain

! Basically ended up wrecked - brilliant craic. Got talking to the Meath guys later that evening and ended up drinking until 2.30. We were told the bar would stay open as long as we were drinking but the bar man ended up throwing us out :( Met two Spanish girls - Natalia and Vicky. Lovely girls but Jay tortured them for a cool phrase - "Esta lloviendo mucho hoy"!

Had to be up for breakfast the next day for 7 and onboard for 8!!!!!!!! Woke up at 7.50 (still drunk) and walked along the jetty (cool fish all around the island). Once we got on the boat everything went pear shaped. We both became really really ill. Jay was worse coz he spent most of the day at the back end of the boat feeding the fish - poor baby. Mazza and the skipper - Jeff were starting to really worry about him. He reckons it was food poisoning or something....or was it that last pint? Seriously - it wasn't a hangover he was really sick.

It just so happened that day we visited Whitehaven Beach. Wow this place was stunning. It is apparently classed as one of the best beaches in the world and we can see why. Our pictures of it don't really do it justice (Tracy took them) but it is gorgeous. Spent a while walking about there and then boarded the boat again for lunch - again Jay was sick and couldn't hold anything down - even water - it was scary Blue Pearl Bay

.

We both had a nap on the boat and finally started coming round when we got back to the island (typical). Had a shower and dinner and started to feel normal again. Gave the drinking games a miss this time but we still had great craic laughing at everyone else - especially John & Cathal. Went to bed at 10.30 coz we couldn't face another day like the first one. Jay learned another phrase today but the girls offered this one voluntarily - "Tengo mucha resaca".

The next day the guys who partied on the second night spent most of the day sleeping on the boat and we were feeling great. Jeff took us to a place called Blue Pearl Bay (part of the Hayman Island) - apparently one of the nicest snorkeling areas in the Whitsundays. It really was beautiful. Jay met up with Elvis (the local 1m long maouri wras) - cool.

Boarded the boat after a few hours and had lunch. Weather was absolutely unbearably warm - seriously. Started heading back to Airlie Beach and most people were inside coz they couldn't stick it. Jeff put the sail up and we all got up on the roof of the boat in the shade - so cool just sitting there listening to music and watching all the islands, dolphins and turtles pass us by. Jay then turned his hand to sailing the boat (well making sure the front pointed at a certain point in the distance) -it's okay folks we're still alive to tell the story. He really enjoyed it.

Arrived back into Airlie at around 2.30. Scorching weather.
