Hello all,
Up at 6.00 to catch the 8.00 bus to Queenstown. It was a beautiful drive.
The only bad part was when we changed coach drivers from Jim to Gary (absolute dickhead). Gary was one of those straight laced, tight assed, smug shites who thinks he knows everything. When we arrived into Queenstown someone asked which YHA he was stopping at to which he said there was only one and that's where he was going. Jay then said there's one in the centre and there's one on the lakefront. Gary was not amused at this and told Jay that he has been living here for 19 years and that there was only ONE YHA and that was on the lakefront. It ended up another guy on the bus said there was another one in the centre which has been newly taken over and that really pissed him off. It was his wedding anniversary that day and his wife was on the bus for the ride (sad person)
Anyway enough about our wee hate Gary (fucker) rant. Checked into the 1ST of Queenstown's YHA's and it was pretty cool. Not too far from town and we had a lake view from our window. Went into town that night to do a bit of exploring. We went for dinner at The World Bar which was delicious (great to eat out for a change) and ended up in the Buffalo Bar with a huge big open fire in the centre of the room. A few weirdos about the place but it was good entertainment.
The next day we took the bus into Wanaka (about 2 hours outside of Queenstown). Pretty little town and the weather again was class. Headed to Stuart Landsborough's Puzzle World as we'd heard so many people raving about it. There were loads of illusions and puzzles and stuff and there was even a maze.
Went into this anti-gravity room where everything was slanty and it made you feel like the room was moving - felt very sick. Everything was designed in such a way that objects defied gravity (pool balls rolling upwards in a slant)
Then we went into the room with the moving heads. This was class. Have a video of it but can't send it here - maybe e-mail it soon.
There was a room which looked normal and you each stand in opposite corners. When you take the picture from a distance one person looks far bigger than the other. They used this on Lord of the Rings apparently.
Then we went to the Roman Toilets which is a painting of all these blokes sitting on the loos and a mirror so that we could sit on the other side and when you took a picture it looked as though you were sitting beside them doing your business.
We decided to give the maze a go but Tracy got really huffy coz we couldn't work it out (nah we had to get the bus anyway). So outside we took some funny pics - attached.
Walked around the town for a while and bought a fishing rod. Jay has christened it Ishmael (sad). But it's cool so we're hoping to do some more fishing. We're hooked now - get it? Ha Ha.

How can this be?
. So of course we didn't know this and were sitting calling him all the names under the sun until we realised she was sitting beside us. So what - he could do with hearing it anyway.Anyway enough about our wee hate Gary (fucker) rant. Checked into the 1ST of Queenstown's YHA's and it was pretty cool. . Jay was standing straight on three steps but when you look at him straight on he is slanted!! Weird but cool. Then we went into the room with the moving heads. This was class. Have a video of it but can't send it here - maybe e-mail it soon.
