So we were sad to leave Seaspray but happy to get away from the mosquitos and get some electricity.
We moved onto David's Place Resort which was by far the best resort we stayed at. We had a bure this time also but it was more like a beach house. When we arrived the generator was being fixed and so there was no electricity in the accommodation but there was in the bar/restaurant. Cold beer!!!!
The staff were really great and they made you feel really welcome. The food was amazing (2 course breakfast!!). We also met up with some balloons here for example, Fabio, Monika and Marco (family) were hilarious. Fabio (Italian) told us that just before he got the plane to Fiji he bought a car wash on the Gold Coast in Australia and was planning to turn it into a bikini car wash. We all had a brainstorming session and we don't really want to go into the specifics of some of the suggestions (you would probably have to subscribe to that kind of web page!)
We also met up with a few girls (who were more than willing to help Fabio with his brainstorming) and they were good craic. One of them, Kelly gave us an itinerary for her home city of Sydney (pub crawl and all). We also met a girl called Collette from US.
Christine and Brian arrived on our second day which was cool. Later that night we all headed for the bar and we did the Bula Dance which is hilarious. We all chatted and played drinking games until we couldn't stand up.
For our anniversary we went by boat to Honeymoon Island which is totally uninhabited. We brought loads of drink and sat on the beach. The guys who brought us over went fishing and then picked us up later. On the way back to the resort we stopped the boat and watched the sunset - perfect!
On our last day all the staff dressed up in full uniform and came down to the beach to see us off. They sang a song called "Goodbye to Fiji". It was really emotional because not only were we leaving David's Place but we were leaving Fiji and all the guys we had spent so much time with especially Christine and Brian :( Christine and Brian are both nurses and Christine works with kids with cancer at Children's Hospital Orange County. When we were leaving she gave us two bracelets that say "stay strong CHOC". She told us that one of the kids she was looking after died and wanted a bracelet made for her. Her parents had these made and Christine gave us both one. It was so emotional - they really were great people.
But all good things must come to an end and so on to New Zealand!!!!
