At the school we enjoyed a briefing about the education system from the English teacher, a young man originally from an area near Sabo. This is a boarding school, where local children stay Sunday night through Friday noon; they have almost 9 hours of schooling and activities each day, starting at 5:30am and ending in the early evening. We visited their dorms and the medical centre, then enjoyed our picnic (a bamboo BBQ) underneath the library. The ship's sailors, chef, and dining room staff were all there to make it a most memorable meal! Then it was time to pack up and head back to the ship.
Late this afternoon, our guides Louis and Neri gave demonstrations of the uses and ways to tie sarongs and how to use a blow pipe. Many of our guests had fun trying the blow pipe, aiming at a bunch of balloons tied above the bar doors (don't worry, the doors were closed to protect the bartender!) Then it was time for dinner - we eat A LOT! - and a good night's rest. Tomorrow some of the more adventurous are headed for a jungle trek while others of us visit the town again or remain on board.
