Where I stayed
South West Rocks Caravan Park

After a couple of rainy days in Nambucca Heads and with the forecast not very promising we moved further down south. Only 50kms down the track found us at South West Rocks.

My brother Graeme and sister-in-law Cheryl have always loved South West Rocks which is situated mid-way between Sydney and the Gold Coast on the Macleay Valley.  We had travelled through here before but had never stayed, now we understand why they love this place.

South West Rocks itself is a beautiful little coastal town. A walk up to the Smokey Gape lighthouse  in the Hat Head National Park which is 140 metres above sea level certainly tested our fitness, well maybe lack of!

As a result of the rough seas being experienced in the area the scenery along the coast, especially around the Arakoon area, was breathtaking. After taking what seemed like hundreds of photos we finally dragged ourselves away from the area.

Unfortunately we have to move on tomorrow as we planned to go through Sydney on Sunday when hopefully it won't be too busy.
