Wally invited us to dinner at his camp at Gapridge Village. I am not sure what we expected but we were blown away by the facilities. The village houses 2000 people. The sleeping quarters known as "dongas" stretch for as far as you can see. The mess was a huge smorgasboard area, immaculately clean, the food was fantastic and all you could eat. Ray and I chose roast beef and both agreed it was the best roast beef we had ever eaten. We managed to squeeze in sweets, again a huge display to choose from. The entire village is so clean and soooo big
Thanks Wally, a fantastic experience and a great night.
The Woodside operated North West Shelf venture represents Australia's largest resource development and one of the world's largest producers of gas.
Dampier, 20kms from Karratha provides the facilities for the Dampier Salt operations.
Ray and I both agreed we have learnt more about Australia in the last 7 weeks than we have in our entire lives.
