Day 1 - Left Drysdale at 7.15am. Beautiful day, the perfect morning to be setting off for hopefully 6 months on the road. All is wonderful, our dream has commenced. But!!!! things do change very quickly - near Inverleigh we come across our first roadworks. After about a 15 minute wait all was well so off we went on our merry way, BUT!! first minor challenge, warning signal that the car was overheating, we were a little worried as this had never happened before but soon the gauge dropped and all was well again and off we went.
We met up with Graeme (my brother) on the outskirts of Hamilton where he was waiting to see us go through. It was great to be able to have a hug and farewell and be on our way again. Next stop was  Hamilton and morning tea with Peter Kelly our great friend where we had Gina's (thanks Gina) cakes and caramel slice.
Now we are really off to commence the adventure. BUT! things did not go according to the big plan. We were coming down the Coleraine hills when the overheatingw arning sign came on again. Bugger!! this is not part of the Dream. Well to cut a very long story short, we had a good samaratian come to our aid, then the police happened to be passing by so they stopped, then a shire worker in his truck also stopped to offer assistance, in the meantime we had called the  RACV and by this time the temperature was around 30 degrees and thus the morale was starting to lower significantly.
The RACV man arrived in a big tow truck and after checking "things" out suggested he follow up into Casterton but if the car overheated he would load the car on the truck and tow the van, can you imagine humiliating this would have been. Well we crept in to Casterton and after 2 hours we were given the all clear, problem solved.

We got to Robe, set up camp, all was back to the dream again with a perfect evening sitting outside with a champas and a few cans. Oh yeah, this is the life. Dont you just love holidays.
